David Alaba has officially found a new club after leaving Real Madrid, with the Austrian defender preparing for a new chapter in his career.
Details: Italian side Udinese have officially announced the signing of the 34-year-old Austrian international on a free transfer. Alaba has signed a contract with the Serie A club until June 30, 2027, ending his spell as a free agent following his departure from Real Madrid this summer.
The experienced defender successfully completed his medical examination before finalizing the move to Udinese. The Italian club confirmed the transfer on September 24, welcoming a player who has previously represented Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
Speaking after completing the transfer, Alaba made it clear that he still has significant ambitions. The Austrian stressed that he wants to continue winning trophies and competing at the highest level rather than simply spending the final years of his career in Italy.
Alaba also revealed that Udinese's head coach had explained the role he would play in the team. The defender intends to bring his experience to the dressing room, take responsibility and help the club's younger players develop.
It is worth noting that Alaba spent five seasons at Real Madrid after joining the Spanish giants from Bayern Munich in 2021. During his time with the German club, he made 431 appearances and scored 33 goals, according to Udinese's official announcement.
