Former Bayern Munich and Real Madrid defender David Alaba will join Udinese as a free agent.

Details: According to renowned insider Fabrizio Romano, the Italian club have reached a verbal agreement with the 34-year-old Austrian utility player. The footballer is currently heading to Italy, where he will undergo a mandatory medical examination after landing before signing a contract with the Black and Whites.

Udinese's management have already confirmed the imminent transfer by posting an intriguing teaser on the club's social media featuring a foldable white chair — a direct reference to the Austrian's iconic celebration during Real Madrid's Champions League triumphs. Once the formalities are completed, the defender will join Kosta Runjaic's squad.

Alaba has been a free agent since July 1, 2026, following the expiration of his contract with Real Madrid, where he spent five seasons. Before his spell in Spain, the Austrian represented Bayern Munich, making more than 400 appearances for the club and winning the Champions League twice.
