The scheduled Championship Round 26 clash between Sheffield United and Oxford United, set for today, has been officially postponed.

Details: The reason for the postponement was the unsatisfactory condition of the pitch at Bramall Lane. In the morning, the referee was called to inspect the stadium after it was discovered that some sections of the playing surface remained frozen. Following the inspection, the match official made the decision to call off the game, citing player safety concerns.

The club stated that all standard procedures for low temperatures were followed ahead of the match, including the use of the pitch heating system.

However, a small section of the pitch remained partially frozen in the morning. Despite efforts to bring the surface up to league standards, the referee, after inspection, made the final decision to cancel the fixture.

The match was scheduled to kick off at 13:00 Central European Time. A new date for the fixture will be announced in due course.

Reminder: Watford's Moroccan winger Maamma could be on the move. He is on the radar of Chelsea and Strasbourg.
