Official bid submitted: the potential venue for the Nations League final is known
Spain has officially expressed its desire to host the final tournament of the 2026–27 Nations League season. Spanish Football Federation president Rafael Louzán confirmed that the bid has already been submitted to UEFA. The decision comes after Spain’s victory over England at Wembley, Mundo Deportivo reports.
The tournament’s final stage is scheduled for June 9–13, 2027. Spain has proposed staging the semifinals, the third-place play-off and the final at two stadiums — Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid and Nuevo José Zorrilla in Valladolid.
The federation chief noted that the country does not want to miss the opportunity to host the decisive matches of the prestigious international tournament. The documents were prepared in recent days in cooperation with Real Madrid and Valladolid.
If Spain’s bid is approved by UEFA, Santiago Bernabéu will be the main venue. The legendary Madrid arena will host the Nations League final, while the second stadium will be used for the earlier stages of the final tournament.
