A worrying sign: Barcelona footballer injured right before Spain match
Barcelona defender Eric García picked up an injury at the worst possible moment — immediately before the Nations League match between England and Spain. The footballer felt discomfort in his left knee during the warm-up and was unable to take part in the game.
García was initially expected to start for Luis de la Fuente's team, but was forced to head back to the dressing room shortly before kick-off. His place in the starting XI was taken by Marc Pubill, who had to join the warm-up with the first-team players at short notice.
According to the Spanish press, the issue is currently described as discomfort in García's left knee. The national team's medical staff decided not to risk the defender's health, while definitive conclusions about the nature of the injury will be made after further examination.
