Atlético Madrid have undergone significant changes in their ownership structure, reaching an agreement with new investors.

Details: The club announced that Miguel Ángel Gil, Enrique Cerezo, Quantum Pacific Group, and funds managed by Ares Management — previously the main shareholders — have reached an agreement with Apollo, which will become the new majority shareholder of Atlético Madrid.

Quote: “As part of the agreement, Miguel Ángel Gil and Enrique Cerezo will continue to lead Atlético Madrid as CEO and President respectively, remaining shareholders to ensure continuity, vision, and leadership in the club’s project,” the statement read.

In their latest La Liga match, Atlético Madrid defeated Levante 3–1. The Colchoneros currently sit fourth in the table with 25 points after 12 rounds, three points behind second place and six off the top.

Reminder: Atlético forward Julián Álvarez recently responded to rumours linking him with moves to PSG and Barcelona.
