Official: Arne Slot is back to work!
Arne Slot is back in football, although his new position is quite different from coaching a team.
Details: UEFA has officially included the former Liverpool head coach in its Technical Observer Group for the 2026/27 Champions League season. The Dutch specialist returns to work just over four months after being dismissed by Liverpool on May 30.
Slot will work alongside 35 other football experts, analysing matches, tactical developments and modern coaching trends across European club competitions. The group uses statistics and video footage to prepare detailed technical reports, which are subsequently shared with the wider football community.
The 47-year-old Dutchman joins an impressive list of specialists that includes Erik ten Hag, Ole Gunnar Solskjær, Gareth Southgate, Thomas Frank and Rafa Benítez.
However, this appointment does not mark Slot's return to the dugout. His responsibilities will focus on tactical analysis rather than managing players or preparing a team for matches.
It's worth noting that Slot took charge of Liverpool in 2024 and immediately led the club to the Premier League title in the 2024/25 season. Before moving to England, he also won the Dutch championship with Feyenoord and guided the Rotterdam side to the Conference League final in 2022.
Reminder: High alert at Anfield! Police fear an attack
