NPFL: Sporting Lagos Beat Bendel Insurance to Claim First Home Win of the Season

Sporting Lagos secured their first home win of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season with a 2-1 victory over Bendel Insurance on Sunday at the Onikan Stadium.

Before the match, Sporting Lagos celebrated captain Solomon Uloko’s 50th appearance with a commemorative plaque.

The Lagos-based side started brightly as Victor Samuel opened the scoring in the 14th minute, but Bendel Insurance responded four minutes later through Kayode Oke to restore parity.

Sporting Lagos regained the lead in the 22nd minute, with Gafar Olaniyan finding the net to put the hosts ahead once again. The goal proved decisive as Sporting Lagos held on to secure all three points.

The home side held on to their lead until the final whistle to claim all three points and record their first home victory of the campaign.
