NPFL: Rangers International Fined ₦4 Million and Ordered to Play Two Home Games Behind Closed Doors

Rangers International FC have been handed a major disciplinary blow after the NPFL imposed sanctions following incidents during their fixture against Barau FC on April 5, 2026, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.

The league’s ruling includes a total fine of ₦4 million and a directive forcing Rangers to play their final two home matches of the season behind closed doors, with fans barred from attending.

The punishment stems from multiple infractions recorded during the match. The club was fined ₦1 million for poor security arrangements, another ₦1 million after supporters encroached onto the pitch, ₦1 million for misconduct involving club officials, and a further ₦1 million for the harassment of match officials by fans.

Alongside the financial penalties and stadium restriction, Rangers have also been granted a 48-hour window to submit an appeal if they choose to contest the decision.
