The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has sanctioned Kun Khalifat FC for failing to honour their Matchday 24 away fixture against El-Kanemi Warriors in Maiduguri.
The league stated that the club’s explanation for missing the game was unsatisfactory. As a result, Kun Khalifat has had three points and three goals deducted, with the same awarded to El-Kanemi Warriors in accordance with league rules.
Kun Khalifat were also handed a ₦10 million fine, which has been suspended for the remainder of the season, provided no similar offence is committed. The club has been given 48 hours to appeal the decision.
