NPFL: Nasarawa United Technical Adviser Determined to Stay in Title Race Despite Narrow Loss to Warri Wolves

Nasarawa United technical adviser Mangut Mbwas has vowed that the Solid Miners will continue their pursuit of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title, despite their narrow 1-0 defeat to Warri Wolves on Matchday 15 of the 2025/26 season.

Speaking to the club’s media after the game, Mbwas remained optimistic:

"I am not disappointed with today's result, even though our hosts took advantage of an early mistake to score and defended well to secure the win."

The defeat saw Nasarawa United drop to 2nd place on goal difference behind Ikorodu City, though both teams remain level on 27 points. Mbwas acknowledged that his team created several scoring opportunities but was simply unlucky not to convert them:

"We played better, missed a lot of goalscoring chances, but were just unlucky. The league is still a marathon. We will recover quickly from today's defeat and keep fighting till the end of the season to achieve our target."

The Solid Miners will now aim to bounce back at Lafia City Stadium when they host Shooting Stars Sport Club of Ibadan, currently 10th on the league table, on Sunday, 7th December 2025.
