NPFL: Nasarawa United Coach Mangut Mbwas Targets Kano Pillars Win After Enyimba Victory
Nasarawa United head coach Mangut Mbwas has praised his players for securing maximum points against Enyimba and challenged them to maintain their momentum ahead of next weekend’s clash with Kano Pillars.
Mbwas acknowledged that his side could have scored more goals but stressed that collecting all three points was the priority. He also highlighted the team’s recent improvement, noting that Nasarawa United have earned 13 points from their last five games and recorded five consecutive clean sheets.
Looking ahead to the meeting with Kano Pillars, the coach said his team would be aiming for victory despite losing both home and away against the Kano-based club last season.
COACH MANGUT MBWAS(NAS): "Let me give credit to the boys for securing the maximum points. We should have scored more goals, but the three points are more important.
"Thirteen points in five games is not a bad development. We are responding gradually, and suffice to say we are defending well and also attacking well - that's five clean sheets in succession.
"Against Kano Pillars next weekend, we are going for the maximum points like any other game.
"We lost away and home against them last season, but we have learnt our lessons. We are going to work towards that game.
