Kano Pillars have been hit with a heavy ₦15 million fine and will play their next three home matches behind closed doors following serious breaches of the Nigeria Premier Football League regulations.

The sanctions stem from incidents that occurred during their recent clash against Rivers United at the Sani Abacha Stadium, where multiple infractions were recorded.

Breakdown of the ₦15 Million Fine

The league outlined several violations, most of which were repeated offenses:

  • Pillars to pay N4m for REPEATED failure to provide adequate security.
  • N3m for REPEATED acts of unsporting behaviours capable of bringing the NPFL to disrepute
  • N3m for REPEATED failure to ensure proper conduct of their fans and supporters, leading to harassment of match officials
  • N3m for REPEATED gross misconduct towards match officials
  • N2m for REPEATED disruption and delay of matches leading to harassment and individuation of centre referees
  • Pillars will play their next 3 home games under closed doors, starting from their upcoming last home game of the season.
