NPFL: Ikorodu City Beat 10-Man Ranchers Bees 2-1 in Season Opener

Ikorodu City began their 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) campaign with a 2-1 victory over newly promoted Ranchers Bees at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan.

Ranchers Bees made a bright start and stunned the home side by taking the lead after just seven minutes through Chiedozie Okorie.

Ikorodu City responded in the 30th minute when Umar Dan’Azumi found the back of the net to level the score.

The Oga Boys then completed the turnaround shortly before half-time, with Abayomi Ayodeji curling a fine effort into the bottom corner to give Ikorodu City a 2-1 lead at the break.

Ranchers Bees were reduced to 10 men as the game entered its final stages, but Ikorodu City were unable to add another goal despite creating opportunities.

The hosts held on to secure all three points and make a winning start to their NPFL campaign.
