NPFL: Ikorodu City Assistant Coach Washington Egor Praises Players After Doma United Draw

Ikorodu City FC assistant coach Washington Egor lauded his players' fighting spirit after securing a point on the road in their 2-2 draw against Doma United in the Nigeria Premier Football League.

Standing in for head coach Bright Ozebagbe, who is away on international assignment, Egor admitted the long journey from Lagos to the north took its toll but said his squad responded admirably.

"First, I must thank God Almighty and thank my players for the resilience they showed in this game. Coming all the way from Lagos to this part of the north to play a game like this is not easy. I give kudos to the players," he said.

Egor revealed that his team travelled to take maximum points but was satisfied to leave with a draw given the circumstances.

"We knew it was going to be tough, but we didn't dwell on fatigue. We came here to pick the three points, and it didn't work out that way. I think picking a point to take home is good for us, because the journey down here is about 24 hours," he stated.

Ikorodu City FC will now turn their attention to their next fixture, looking to build on the resilience shown in the north.
