Remo Stars have been fined ₦7 million by the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) following security lapses during their Matchday 20 fixture against Ikorodu City.

The sanction comes in the aftermath of a post-match clash between supporters of both clubs, which reportedly resulted in injuries to visiting fans as well as damage to property. The NPFL ruled that Remo Stars failed to provide adequate security measures to guarantee the safety of players, officials, and supporters during the encounter.

In addition to the financial penalty, the league has directed Remo Stars to play all remaining home matches this season away from their usual venue. The club will now host its fixtures at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan. Remo Stars have been given a 48-hour window to appeal the decision, should they choose to challenge the sanctions imposed by the league body.
