NPFL: Enyimba Defender Paul Odeh Expresses Excitement Ahead of Emotional Clash With Former Club Wikki Tourists

Enyimba defender Paul Odeh says he is “so excited” about facing his former club, Wikki Tourists, in Sunday’s fixture, admitting it will be an emotional moment if he gets the chance to feature.

Speaking to the club’s website, Odeh explained that the match holds special meaning for him because of his time with the Bauchi-based side. He noted,

“I am so excited about this fixture because Wikki Tourists was my former team,” adding that it is an encounter he looks forward to with great interest.

Odeh made it clear that his full commitment lies with his current club Enyimba Int’l FC, stating,

“If called upon to play, I will give my best for Enyimba Int’l FC – that is where I am now. Though it is going to be a mix of emotion because I have my friends there as well.” He emphasized that his loyalty is with Enyimba, saying he is ready to give “100%” if selected.

He also appealed to Enyimba fans to come out in large numbers and support the team as they continue their push for a return to continental competitions. In his words,

“We want to urge the fans, we want to urge everybody supporting the team to come out in their numbers on Sunday and beyond.”

Odeh stressed the importance of unity and effort while also expressing optimism about the squad’s progress this season, noting that everyone is working hard to secure a continental ticket.

“All hands should be on deck, so we can move the team to where it belongs – which is the continent. “This season is going to be a wonderful one. As you can see, we’re all putting in the work, and everybody is pushing to see that at the end of the season, we get a continental ticket.

Enyimba will host Wikki Tourists in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 13 clash at the Aba Stadium, with the People’s Elephant seeking just their second win in seven league outings.
