NPFL: Barau Technical Advisor Ladan Bosso Reveals Players Vowed to Begin Three-Match Unbeaten Run
Barau Technical Adviser Ladan Bosso has revealed that his players made a personal vow to begin a three match unbeaten run, a promise they agreed on before their crucial clash against Katsina United.
Speaking after Barau’s solid 2–0 victory over Rangers International, Bosso explained that the commitment came directly from the squad.
“The players themselves met and vowed that they want to play at least three matches unbeaten,” he said, describing the pledge as a positive sign of the team’s growing determination.
“That is just the start of something good.”
When asked about the team’s struggles to finish in the final third, despite scoring 9 goals in 12 NPFL games, Ladan Bosso used the moment to address a broader issue in Nigerian football. He pointed out that even the Super Eagles face difficulties without their star striker, Victor Osimhen.
“In Nigeria and Africa today, we talk a lot about finishing. Even with the Super Eagles, without Osimhen, nobody is there to convert chances,” Bosso noted.
He emphasized that success in attack goes beyond just scoring ability.
“It’s all about agreement, arrangement, tactical preparation and orientation. Our attackers are there to torment the opponent’s defence.”
Barau’s next game will take them to Gateway Stadium in Ijebu Ode, where they will face Remo Stars on Sunday, November 23. The team currently sits 16th in the NPFL standings as they continue their fight to move away from the relegation zone.
