Nottingham Forest forward Taiwo Awoniyi found himself in a harrowing situation following his team's recent match against Leicester (2-2).

Details: According to the Daily Mail, the Nigerian striker suffered severe abdominal injuries after a collision with the goalpost.

Given the life-threatening nature of Awoniyi's injuries, medical staff performed emergency surgery.

Following the operation, Awoniyi was placed in an induced coma, where he remains to this day. Fortunately, his life is no longer in danger.

Awoniyi has managed just one goal in 26 Premier League appearances this season.

Reminder: Earlier reports indicated that Manchester City has made significant progress in negotiations to sign Nottingham Forest's talisman Morgan Gibbs-White.
