Nottingham Forest move closer to appointing new head coach
Nottingham suffered a 0–3 defeat to Chelsea in their latest match, prompting the club to dismiss head coach Ange Postecoglou. The club has already identified his potential replacement.
Details: According to Fabrizio Romano, Nottingham are close to appointing Sean Dyche as their new head coach. The club had negotiations with Roberto Mancini, but no agreement was reached. Dyche is ready to take charge, with the deal in its final stages.
Previously, we reported that Postecoglou’s Europa League triumph last season initially inspired confidence in Nottingham’s management. However, concerns soon emerged that he might replicate the 17th-place finish he achieved with Tottenham — or perhaps even perform worse.
During Postecoglou’s tenure, Nottingham played eight matches, keeping no clean sheets and conceding 20 goals. The team currently sit 18th in the Premier League table with just five points from eight games.
Reminder: Nottingham are targeting a manager from another Premier League club and are ready to pay £8 million in compensation to secure him.
