UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria (15-0 MMA, 7-0 UFC) criticized former champion Conor McGregor (22-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC), stating that the Irishman is not worthy of sharing the octagon with him.

"I wanted this fight before, but now it seems he's retired. How long has it been since he fought? Three or four years? Something like that. One day, I might see him back in the game — but right now, he doesn’t deserve to share the octagon with me.

I am the world champion. He was, but now he’s nobody. He’s not even ranked. So if he returns and gets back into the rankings, why not?

At the moment, it looks like I have bigger fights ahead. A fight with Sean O'Malley — that’s bigger, a fight with Max Holloway — that's bigger, a fight with Islam [Makhachev] — that's bigger. Right now, Conor is nothing but drugs and alcohol," Topuria told MMA Junkie.

The 35-year-old McGregor has not fought since July 2021, when he broke his leg during the trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier.

Earlier, Conor mentioned when he plans to return to the octagon, noting that he is looking forward to it and is preparing for his comeback.
