Cristiano Ronaldo has no intention of slowing down and has already outlined two major goals he wants to achieve.
Details: Ahead of Portugal's Nations League match against Wales, the 41-year-old forward spoke about his ambitions for the coming months. Despite his age and numerous achievements throughout his legendary career, Ronaldo made it clear that he still has unfinished business in football. The Portuguese captain identified two specific objectives:
"The missions now are two: winning the Nations League and reaching 1000 career goals," Ronaldo stated.
Portugal will begin their 2026/27 Nations League campaign against Wales on September 24 at the Estádio José Alvalade in Lisbon. The encounter will mark the beginning of a new chapter for the national team under head coach Jorge Jesus, who previously worked with Ronaldo at Al-Nassr.
The Portuguese side will also face Norway and Denmark in Group A4. Ronaldo's ambition is to help his country defend the trophy while continuing his personal pursuit of the historic 1,000-goal milestone.
It is worth noting that Portugal are the reigning Nations League champions. In June 2025, they defeated Spain on penalties after a 2-2 draw in the final, becoming the first national team to win the competition twice. Ronaldo scored Portugal's second goal in that match.
