Vangelis Pavlidis has burst into Barcelona’s transfer plans after his astonishing goal-scoring display.

Details: According to AS, the Catalan club’s management has added Benfica striker Vangelis Pavlidis to their list of attacking reinforcements. The Greek forward is being considered as a backup option in case Barcelona fails to land their primary target—Julián Álvarez.

However, a potential move for Pavlidis will depend not only on the negotiations for Álvarez. The Catalans will only turn to the Greek striker if Ferran Torres leaves the club.

Striking a deal with Benfica won’t be easy. The Portuguese side is counting on their star marksman and has no intention of letting him go easily after the start of the new season.

Barcelona’s interest intensified following Pavlidis’s outstanding performance in the Europa League qualifiers. The Greek netted four goals against St. Gallen, helping Benfica overturn a 1–2 deficit from the first leg.

It’s worth noting that Pavlidis has surpassed the 20-goal mark in each of the last five seasons. In the last three campaigns, the forward has consistently scored at least 30 goals.

Reminder: Boom! Arsenal could sign World Cup 2026 final hero.
