Antonio Conte has left SSC Napoli following the end of the season, and the club are now searching for a new head coach. While Massimiliano Allegri was initially considered the frontrunner, it now appears Napoli have changed direction.
Details: According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Neapolitans are now seriously considering Vincenzo Italiano for the managerial post. Italiano is currently in charge of Bologna FC 1909 and guided the club to the Coppa Italia title in 2025.
The main concern for Napoli is reportedly Allegri’s disappointing finish to the season, having failed to secure UEFA Champions League qualification for AC Milan.
Unless there is an unexpected twist, Napoli’s hierarchy are now prepared to place their trust in Vincenzo Italiano and hand him the role of head coach.
As a reminder: Italian side Napoli could soon find themselves at the centre of one of the biggest deals in the history of world sport.
