No transfer will happen – Unai Emery confirms Watkins is staying
Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins has been a transfer target for several clubs, but the Birmingham side’s manager has dismissed any speculation about a move.
Details: Unai Emery confirmed that Watkins has decided to stay at the club during the winter transfer window. According to the Spanish coach, the forward is happy at Aston Villa.
Quote: "Some players prefer to leave… then some players stay with us here, and one of them is Ollie Watkins. He is happy to stay at Aston Villa," Emery stated.
Recently, reports suggested that Arsenal had approached Aston Villa regarding a transfer for Watkins, with a potential deal valued at around £60 million.
Reminder. Last weekend, Watkins became only the second player in Aston Villa's history to directly contribute to 100+ goals in the Premier League (61 goals, 39 assists).
