While an agreement has yet to be reached, negotiations with Villa and the player's representatives are progressing as Arsenal aims to secure a striker before the closure of the January transfer window.

Aston Villa wants to first secure João Félix before considering the sale of Watkins. The English striker is keen on moving to the Emirates.
