No return? De Gea's salary demands revealed
David De Gea has recently been linked with a move to an Italian club. The Spanish goalkeeper has been without a team for over a year since leaving Manchester United, and his salary demands have now been revealed.
At the end of his contract with Old Trafford, his weekly salary was £375,000, and he agreed to reduce it to £200,000 per week. However, that offer was withdrawn, and De Gea left the club, ending his more than decade-long career at United.
It appears that his salary demands are the main issue. According to TEAMtalk, De Gea is seeking a contract with an annual salary of £4.2 to £5 million, which amounts to £80,000 to £96,000 per week. Although this is significantly less than his previous salary at United (£375,000 per week) and less than the amount he agreed to in the last contract extension offer, clubs are still not willing to meet his demands.
