Yesterday, Manchester City suffered a stunning 1-4 defeat to Sporting Lisbon in the UEFA Champions League’s fourth round. The match was particularly unfortunate for one of Pep Guardiola's key players.

Details: City’s top scorer, Erling Haaland, missed a crucial penalty, hitting the crossbar. The Norwegian also failed to capitalize on several other chances throughout the game.

According to Opta, over City’s last three matches—all ending in defeat—Haaland has missed a total of eight clear scoring opportunities. This is the worst record among players in Europe’s top leagues.

Reminder: This is the first time since 2018 that Manchester City has lost three consecutive matches, ending their 26-game unbeaten run in the Champions League.

On Saturday, November 9, Manchester City will face Brighton away in the 11th round of the English Premier League.
