No limits to rage! Cameras capture Spalletti and Juventus management confronting referees during halftime of Inter clash
The clash between Inter and Juventus ignited not just on the pitch, but also behind the scenes in the stadium corridors.
Details: At halftime, Juventus head coach Luciano Spalletti, president Damien Comolli, and football strategy director Giorgio Chiellini launched a heated confrontation with the match referee, Federico La Penna, right at the entrance to the tunnel. Both Chiellini and Spalletti, voices raised, demanded answers from La Penna, and only the swift intervention of stadium security allowed the officiating crew to reach their dressing room unscathed.
The source of Turin's fury was the referee's decision to show a second yellow card to defender Pierre Kalulu right at the end of the first half. Juventus management and coaching staff are adamant: the official made a game-changing mistake that shattered their plans and left the team shorthanded in a crucial title showdown.
"What we witnessed today is a disgrace. Such officiating is absolutely unacceptable at this level," Comolli later declared.
It's worth noting that the match itself was packed with action, as Inter clinched a 3-2 victory with a dramatic winner in the 90th minute.
Reminder: Former Juventus coach Igor Tudor has been appointed as the new head coach of Tottenham.
