No green light! Sunderland send Methalie back to France

Romano reports that Methalie will now undergo extra tests, while Toulouse and Sunderland are set to make a decision soon. The transfer, previously agreed at 28 million euros plus 2 million euros in add-ons, is currently in jeopardy.
The 20-year-old left-back had travelled to England after the clubs struck a verbal agreement, with Sunderland preparing to add the France Under-21 international to their squad before the new Premier League campaign.
It is worth noting that last season the French left-back made 28 Ligue 1 appearances for Toulouse, scoring twice in his final three games. According to Transfermarkt, the player's value stands at 18 million euros. He has also earned 4 caps and scored 2 goals for France U21.
Reminder: Ivorian Abdoul Ouattara leaves Strasbourg for the Premier League.
