We're undoubtedly in for a blockbuster.

Details: On the eve of the 2026 World Cup semi-final, several renowned figures in English football have voiced their confidence that England will overcome Argentina.

Former midfielder Joe Cole stated that the team knows exactly how to deal with the opponent's main star.

"Messi playing against England for the first time? We'll put him to bed. Yes, one hundred percent."

Ex-striker Troy Deeney is expecting a convincing victory for the Three Lions.

"I think we're going to thrash Argentina. We'll win at least 2-0, no problem at all."

Legendary defender John Terry also believes that England outmatches their rivals in terms of individual quality.

"Argentina doesn't worry me. If you compare our players one-on-one, we're stronger."

Former striker Ian Wright has no doubts about his team's success either.

"Their style suits us. I think we'll be able to close down their space and break through their defense."

And former Manchester United captain Gary Neville is certain that England’s attack will cause serious problems for the Argentine defenders.

"Given their centre-backs, I just can't see how we don't score at least two goals. We're quicker, more mobile, and we've got a stronger squad."

The World Cup semi-final between Argentina and England will take place tonight in Atlanta at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
