A Brazilian court has issued an arrest order for former AC Milan and Real Madrid striker Robinho, as reported by LEI EM CAMPO.

The former Brazilian national team player has been sentenced to nine years in prison for group sexual assault in Italy. The Brazilian court has issued its arrest order for the footballer. He will serve his sentence in a prison in his native country.

It is noteworthy that the Italian court delivered its verdict on Robinho back in 2017. He was charged with raping a 22-year-old Albanian woman. The footballer himself disagreed with the imprisonment and expressed a desire to appeal the verdict. In January 2022, his appeal was officially rejected. Thus, in February of the same year, Italy issued an international arrest warrant for the player. However, Robinho had remained at liberty until recently, residing in Brazil.

A few days ago, Dutch striker Quincy Promes of Spartak Moscow was arrested by local police in Dubai. It became known that this happened after a request from the Dutch prosecutor's office for the extradition of the footballer. According to the decision of the Amsterdam court, Promes is to serve 7.5 years in prison for stabbing his cousin in the knee and smuggling over 1350 kg of cocaine.
