Nigerian star slams Super Eagles players after loss to Rwanda

After losing the final match against Rwanda, Nigeria's players received a lot of criticism for their inaction, according to press reports from Nigeria.

But the biggest criticism came from a Nigerian champion who has a great influence on Nigerian sports of all kinds, Abiodun Obafemi has voiced his frustration with the lack of commitment displayed by some Super Eagles players following their 2-1 defeat to Rwanda in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

The defeat was all the more surprising given Nigeria’s qualification for the 2025 AFCON, which led to the absence of some key players.

Abiodun Obafemi said: ““We expected so much from these guys based on their performances with their clubs, but when they come to Nigeria, they do what they cannot in their teams. It’s a very big concern, They must be competitive. I, don’t understand why they are selecting games”
