Many Premier League teams, including Aston Villa, are reportedly interested in signing Samuel Chukwueze, a winger for AC Milan. After leaving Villarreal for Milan in the summer, the Nigerian player has struggled to establish a consistent position in the squad, primarily playing off the bench in his 22 games this season.

Despite having three goals and one assist, Chukwueze's contributions have sometimes been overshadowed by those of his colleague Christian Pulisic. His future in San Siro has been the subject of speculations as a result. Since late December, he has been sidelined due to a hamstring injury; nevertheless, he is making good progress and should resume training by the end of January.

Unai Emery, the manager of Aston Villa, is interested in bringing Chukwueze back after they previously worked together at Villarreal, when they won the 2021 Europa League. Villa will, however, have to fight with other Premier League and La Liga clubs for his services.

According to reports, Milan is willing to transfer unpopular players to make room for new recruits as they undergo a "winter revolution" under coach Sergio Conceicao. The possible exit of Chukwueze might signal a new beginning for the winger, who is trying to revitalize his career. On the other hand, he may make a comeback to action on February 2 in the Milan derby, which would be a crucial opportunity for the 25-year-old to impress.
