Ngumoha becomes Liverpool’s youngest FA Cup player

Sixteen-year-old winger Rio Ngumoha made history for Liverpool by starting in their FA Cup match against Accrington, etching his name in the club’s record books for the national competition.

Details: At 16 years, 4 months, and 13 days old, Ngumoha became Liverpool’s youngest-ever player to feature in the FA Cup. The previous record, set less than a year ago on February 28, 2024, was held by midfielder Trey Nyoni, who played against Southampton at 16 years, 7 months, and 29 days.

However, Ngumoha did not surpass the record for Liverpool’s youngest player across all competitions. That milestone still belongs to Jerome Sinclair, who debuted on September 26, 2012, against West Brom at just 16 years and six days old.
