Ángel Di María leaves Benfica. Will he play at the Club World Cup?
One of the greatest midfielders of this century, Ángel Di María, will most likely be left without a club this summer.
Details: According to Record, the Argentine winger has already informed Benfica’s management that he will depart the club at the end of this season.
Moreover, Di María does not plan to participate in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which will be held in the United States this summer.
This season, the 37-year-old has tallied 15 goals and 9 assists in 38 appearances across all competitions.
Di María played for Benfica from 2007 to 2010, and in the summer of 2023 returned to the club after long stints with Real Madrid, PSG, Manchester United, and Juventus.
Reminder: Earlier reports stated that Real Madrid is planning to buy Benfica’s left-back Álvaro Carreras.
