Following the Copa América 2024 semifinal between Uruguay and Colombia, a brawl involving players and fans erupted.

According to BBC, the verdict for those involved has been issued. The harshest punishment was handed to Uruguay’s striker Darwin Núñez, who is banned for 5 matches and fined $20,000. Midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur is suspended for 4 matches and fined $16,000.

Matías Olivera, Ronald Araújo, and José María Giménez will miss 3 games and face $12,000 fines each. Sebastián Cáceres, Matías Viña, Emiliano Martínez, Bryan Rodríguez, Santiago Mele, and Facundo Pellistri are each fined $5,000.

Additionally, the Uruguayan Football Association has been fined $20,000.

Colombia won the match 1-0 and advanced to the Copa América final, while Uruguay secured third place.
