Newly-promoted Betway Premiership side Milford FC coach Dr Xanti Pupuma confident he will retain most of his squad
Dr Xanti Pupuma is aiming to retain almost his entire team which saw Milford FC gain promotion to the Betway Premiership.
The Stallions gained their place in the elite division via the PSL Promotion/Relegation Play-Off by piping Cape Town City and Magesi FC to the spot.
Generally, National First Division teams who won promotion to the PSL, let go of their NFD players in exchange of signing experienced players.
But Pupuma said for them this is not the case as they are likely to retain almost all their players unless big teams are interested.
“Most of the boys they grew up in the team. So, its 99% that most are going to stick around,” said Pupuma to iDiski Times.
“We just have to work out the proper packages for them unless I mean if Mamelodi Sundowns comes and looks for someone or Orlando Pirates and so on and they will talk to me and if it’s the right deal for them then it’s fine.
“Otherwise, if it’s anybody else that we can compete with financially we are probably going to just try and see.”
The PSL is yet to release the fixtures for the coming season but the league will start on August 1.
