Newly-appointed Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Dillon Sheppard eyes MTN8 glory for Amakhosi
Dillon Sheppard has identified MTN8 as the trophy Kaizer Chiefs should aim for to begin their PSL season.
The newly-appointed Amakhosi assistant coach said winning the Wafa Wafa trophy would signal a good start for the club.
"It's important that one competes on all fronts and that begins with the MTN8. It's a competition of four games so it affords a really good opportunity to win a trophy. The earlier you win a trophy to go with positive opening results in the league, that can really set you up for the rest of the campaign," said Sheppard to SABC Sport.
The former Bafana Bafana international also expressed delight at joining new incumbent Fernando da Cruz's technical team ahead of the new season which starts in August.
"I'm really looking forward to working with the new coach, but also the technical team. As coaches we are always looking to learn so I'm excited for what lies ahead," he added.
