Newcastle winger Almirón set for return to former club

Details: According to Sky Sports, Almirón’s former club, Atlanta United of MLS, has reached an agreement with Newcastle for the 30-year-old winger. The deal is valued at £8 million, with an additional £3 million in potential bonuses.

The player is now in discussions over personal terms with his old-new team, and the transfer is nearing completion.

Reminder: Almirón’s £21 million transfer in January 2019 was a record fee for Newcastle at the time. In the past winter transfer window, he was reportedly close to a move to Saudi Arabia.
