Italy international Sandro Tonali was warmly welcomed by Newcastle United fans at St James' Park following his betting-related suspension.
On October 26, 2023, the midfielder was handed a 10-month ban for multiple bets on football matches, including games involving his own team.
Tonali missed Euro 2024, but he has now returned to the Newcastle bench for their match against Tottenham Hotspur in the third round of the Premier League. Although he made his return to the field on August 28 in a League Cup match against Nottingham Forest, this is his first game at home.
