Newcastle are ready to sell their defender, who was kept out by Bayern in the winter

The transfer saga surrounding the potential departure of Newcastle defender Kieran Trippier appears to be nearing its conclusion.

According to CaughtOffside, the Magpies are ready to say goodbye to the 33-year-old defender in the summer, who is valued at £20m by the club.

Since moving to St James' Park in the winter of 2022 for €14 million, Trippier has endeared himself to the local crowd who have grown to love him and the departure of their star will undoubtedly come as a blow to the fans.

The main contender for the player in the last transfer window was Bayern Munich, who showed a substantial interest in the defender, but in the winter all the forces of Newcastle bosses were thrown to block the deal, which, in fact, they succeeded.
