New ZIFA President Nqobile Magwizi Outlines Vision to Honor Football Legends
The recently elected president of the Zimbabwe Football Association, Nqobile Magwizi, has announced his intentions to honor the nation's footballing greats. After winning resounding 85% of the vote, Magwizi declared his commitment to transforming ZIFA, beginning with the warriors 2025 afcon campaign.
Creating Hall of Fame area at stadiums, where seats would be named after legendary players like Benjani Mwaruwari, Moses Chunga and Peter Ndlovu, is one of his main projects. The money made from these "legend seats" would go toward supporting these renowned athletes families. Magwizi want to inspire future players, bring supporters together, and pay tribute to Zimbabwe's football heritage.
Magwizi also highlighted the importance of recognizing off field heroes, including commentators and scouts, as part of his broader vision to restore pride and passion to zimbabwean football.
