The appeal lodged by the Moroccan Football Federation has been upheld, paving the way for a full review of the case.

The dramatic Africa Cup of Nations final between Senegal and Morocco on 18 January 2026 has yet to reach a final verdict. The relevant bodies of the Confederation of African Football have finally accepted the appeal lodged by Morocco.

This decision resets the disciplinary process, leading to a full review of the case. Consequently, all parties involved must appear again at a new hearing. This reopening could alter the outcome of the case regarding the final and potentially lead to a review of the sanctions previously imposed.

It should be noted that both Senegal and Morocco had been sanctioned by the Disciplinary Committee of the Confederation of African Football.
