During the 16th round of the English Premier League between West Ham and Aston Villa, the fastest goal of the current season was scored.
Just a day after Hugo Ekitike needed only 46 seconds to find the back of the net on December 13, the Frenchman's record was short-lived. The Hammers' midfielder Mateus Fernandes opened the scoring against Villa in just the 29th second of the match.
The 21-year-old Portuguese midfielder capitalized on a defensive blunder and rifled the ball past Bizot. As of the 35th minute, West Ham lead the match 2-1.
