FIFA has decided to revamp the pre-match ceremony for players and national teams at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Team presentations will now take place in a new format.

Details: According to FIFA, the organization has introduced major changes to the team presentation and national anthem ceremonies.

Quote: "During the national anthems, all 26 players from each team will gather around their country's flag in the centre circle, ensuring that every squad member—not just the starting XI—can proudly and emotionally experience this symbolic moment while representing their nation on the world's biggest football stage," FIFA said in a statement.

The aim of the new format is also to increase fan engagement inside stadiums. Players will be accompanied onto the pitch by children and teenagers. Large national flags will be displayed on the field, alongside smaller national flags and FIFA branding, including the organization's official logo.

Reminder: The 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to begin in just one week, and FIFA has already announced a new measure that will directly affect supporters attending the tournament.
