New Super Eagles coach Eric Sékou Chelle is touring Europe to meet key players ahead of Nigeria’s must-win 2026 World Cup qualifiers in March.
Chelle has already spoken with Akor Adams, Hamzat Ojediran, Alex Iwobi, Moses Simon, and Wilfred Ndidi, showing his commitment to strengthening the squad.
Nigeria is in fifth place in Group C with three points from four games, trailing Rwanda and South Africa by four points. Missing another World Cup after failing to qualify in 2022 would be a disaster.
Chelle is expected to bring in new faces, more home-based players, and select only in-form stars to revive the team’s hopes. His first games as Super Eagles coach will be against Rwanda (March 21) and Zimbabwe (March 25).
Fans are eager to see if his leadership can turn things around and keep Nigeria’s World Cup dream alive.
