Details: Today, the national team's official page announced the appointment of 47-year-old Rafael Márquez as the new head coach of the national squad.
The legendary former defender replaces his predecessor Javier Aguirre in this role and will now lead the Mexican team into a new era.
This is Márquez's first appointment as head coach of the national team following his playing career and his work on the coaching staff.
Javier Aguirre was dismissed from his position as head coach of the Mexican national team after their World Cup elimination by England, where they lost 2-3.
