Following the departure of former boss Ronald Koeman, the Royal Dutch Football Association has continued its search for a new manager, and Reiziger's candidacy is now considered the top priority. The former defender of Ajax, Barcelona, and the Dutch national team is intimately familiar with the national team structure, and since 2023 he has been successfully managing the country's U21 squad.
