Unfortunately, NFL players are not uncommonly involved in various criminal incidents, and now New England Patriots captain Jabrill Peppers has become one of them.

Details: According to ESPN, Peppers was arrested by police over the past weekend. The athlete faces charges of assaulting a woman and possession of cocaine.

Braintree police report that the woman, who claims to be the 29-year-old football player’s victim, alleges that he used chokeholds on her at least six times, slammed her against a wall, stripped her of her clothing, and left her outside. She says she had been in a relationship with Peppers for about three years.

During a search of Peppers' residence, a banned white substance was found.

Peppers has since been released on bail but is under a restraining order preventing him from contacting the victim. His court hearing is scheduled for November 22, but he has been granted permission not to attend.

Peppers denies all charges.

Both the Patriots and the NFL have refused to comment on the situation involving their star defender. However, Peppers missed New England’s last game against the Miami Dolphins, which ended 10-15.

In July, Peppers signed a new three-year contract with the club worth $24 million.

Reminder: Earlier this season, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was detained for speeding and threatening police officers.
